Who am I?

I was born in England and moved to Vancouver Island, Canada as a youngster. I grew up in the Oceanside area with my parents and two siblings. In 2011, I moved to Nanaimo and met my husband to be and six years later we got married and moved to Lantzville with our family of houseplants, where we have lived for a few years.

Why Holistic Health?

I have struggled with and grown up around illness most of my life. After being a witness of our overcrowded and overworked medical system, I started to look at our health education and found a passion. My personal health story and the stories of many others along the way inspired me to focus on empowering women to take charge of their health.

Where did I go to school?

I graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, Nanaimo branch as an R.H.N with a Holistic Culinary Certificate. I am currently on a leave from Vancouver Island University’s Bachelor of Arts – Psychology degree program while I get my business going. Once I am in a comfortable place, I plan on going back to finish my last two years.

I worked with ENITY,  Island Health’s Sexual Education Program for four years in the early 2000’s. It was my time teaching with ENITY that sparked my interested into health education.

What are my hobbies?

There isn’t much I don’t like really. I am a lover of anything creative (minus web developing). I love to paint, draw and sing but I spend most of my free time outside, hiking is up there for my favourite hobby. I also love to be out in the garden playing in the dirt. I grow mostly vegetables, fruits, flowers, roots and herbs. Gardening can be so peaceful!  I regularly practice yoga, both at home and at an infrared heated studio which I find helps manage my stress.
